Frankfurt, Germany – Ferrari has debuted its 458 Italia at the Frankfurt Motor Show, a high-performance, eight-cylinder two-seater berlinetta with mid-rear mounted engine.
Using a 4.5-litre V8 engine, F1 dual-clutch gearbox and a dry weight of 1,380 kilograms, the 458 Italia can reach zero t0 100 km/h in under 3.4 seconds, with a top speed of over 325 km/h. However, it produces only 307 g/km of CO2 and has a fuel consumption of only 13.3 L/100 km in the European combined cycle, which Ferrari said is a benchmark for the entire segment.
Buyers will be able to personalize the car on several levels, with features including optional diamond-finish forged alloy wheels, carbon fibre seats, customized colours, and interior materials such as leather, carbon fibre or Alcantara.
