Shanghai, China – The Ferrari California has been officially unveiled to the Asian market at the Shanghai International Motor Show.
Ferrari delivered record results in the Asia Pacific (APAC) market in 2008, with over 1,000 cars sold, and is the market leader in its segment, with 46 per cent market share. The Italian automaker has been present in China since 2004 through its joint venture with China Poly Technology Company; it is the company’s second-largest APAC market, with 212 cars sold and the 500-owner mark reached in 2008. The company’s Chinese dealership network covers ten cities.
The company also founded the first Ferrari China Owners’ Club, a meeting and exchange platform for Ferrari clients, and the introduction of Pilota, the first Ferrari driving course to be staged in the country.
The first Ferrari California models were delivered in Europe early in 2009; deliveries to other countries will commence in June.
