February sales down 5.2 per cent in Canada

Richmond Hill, Ontario – Passenger vehicle sales were down 5.2 in February 2006 compared to a year ago, reports industry analyst Dennis DesRosiers. He says that despite the drop, there is no need to overreact, as February is always the second-lowest volume month after January.

Among domestic manufacturers, only Ford sales rose, while General Motors was down 23.3 per cent; most import nameplates outperformed the market, although Nissan was down 12.1 per cent.
