Saguenay, Quebec – The governments of Canada and Quebec have announced the opening of a thematic exhibit on the Highway 73/175 project. The project involves construction of a 174-km, four-lane highway with median between Quebec City and Saguenay.
Set up in a caravan located close to Étape in the Laurentians Wildlife Reserve, the exhibit is open to the public Wednesday to Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. until September 2008. The exhibit covers such themes as the history of the project, preparation, technical aspects, construction monitoring, environmental protection, workplace health and safety and highway safety.
“This exhibit allows us to showcase one of Quebec’s largest highway projects by giving the community the opportunity to learn about its scope and many advantages,” said Julie Boulet, Quebec Minister of Transportation. “Major projects like Highway 73/175 create jobs and play a role in implementing infrastructure that helps to contribute to the development of regions and all parts of Quebec.”
