Las Vegas, Nevada – With the upcoming 50th anniversary of the 392 Hemi engine next year, Dodge has unveiled the Challenger Super Stock Concept, based on the Challenger that the company has announced it will build in 2008 and carrying the company’s new 392 Hemi crate motor. The Challenger was unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in January 2006.
The original 392 Hemi was introduced in model year 1957 and replaced the 354 cubic-inch version of the original Hemi launched in 1951. The new crate motor, built with all new components, produces 525 hp in its most powerful form. Three versions are available, with 540 and 525 horsepower, and a long-block crate engine.
