Dodge to offer multi-displacement system on 2006 Durango Hemi

Auburn Hills, Michigan – The 2006 Dodge Durango is one of seven Hemi-powered vehicles to feature the Chrysler Group’s Multi-Displacement System (MDS). The new Durango’s features will also include a power rear liftgate, 18-inch wheels, remote start, three-passenger third-row seat, roll-sensing side curtain airbags and electronic stability program.

MDS seamlessly alternates between four- and eight-cylinder mode, depending on engine load, and can create up to 20 per cent better fuel economy. The technology is also used on the Hemi-powered versions of the Chrysler 300C, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Charger, Dodge Magnum, Dodge Ram and Jeep Commander.
