San Antonio, Texas – The Dodge Ram Heavy Duty, Dodge Dakota and Jeep Patriot were all awarded top honours by the Texas Auto Writers Association, at their annual ceremony at the Truck Rodeo near San Antonio, Texas.

The 2010 Ram 3500 was named the Heavy Duty Pickup Truck of Texas, while the 2010 Dodge Dakota won Midsize Truck of Texas, and the 2010 Jeep Patriot was named Compact SUV of Texas.

“We’re very proud of these awards,” said Fred Diaz, president and CEO of Dodge Ram Brand. “They affirm our leadership in the truck market. In a head-to-head competition, our all-new 2010 Ram Heavy Duty unseated last year’s winner, right in the pickup truck capital of the U.S. Ram is not only the best heavy-duty truck we’ve ever built, it’s the best heavy-duty truck on the market, hands down. We’re also proud that the Dodge Dakota won its category, affirming Dakota’s capability and versatility.”

More than forty members of the association voted over two full days of on- and off-road evaluation, with consideration given from everything to styling and off-road capability, to overall utility, value and fuel efficiency.
