Dodge selects BFGoodrich g-Force T/A high performance tires for SRT-4
Detroit, Michigan – BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW tires have been selected as original equipment for the turbocharged 2004 Dodge SRT-4. The Dodge SRT-4, with 5.8-second 0-100 km/h capability, features P205/50ZR17 BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW high-performance tires mounted on 17″ x 6″ cast aluminum wheels.
The g-Force T/A KDW is engineered to deliver an exceptional balance of capabilities in both wet and dry conditions, according to BF Goodrich.
“The tire’s excellent performance and exceptional grip will add to the SRT-4’s already outstanding ride and handling,” said Brian Monprode, OE project manager, BFGoodrich tires. “As a direct descendant of the Trans-Am road racing series rain tire, the g-Force T/A KDW was built to offer consumers the same level of quality, wear and performance.”
The unidirectional tread design along with deep, wide circumferential and sharply angled lateral grooves speed water evacuation and reduce hydroplaning for superb wet performance. Large block elements enhance stability, wear and handling under high-torque conditions. The interior sides of the individual tread blocks are reinforced for improved cornering while driving at higher speeds.
Tall, high-volume g-Control sidewall inserts are used to resist deflection, generate tremendous cornering forces and provide lateral firmness. BFGoodrich brand’s patented ETECTM (Equal Tension Containment) system gives the tire excellent strength, a consistent footprint, a maximized tread contact area and a smooth ride.
Including the P205/50ZR17 size, the g-Force T/A KDW is currently available in 13 sizes using the new tread design.
The first 2004 Dodge SRT-4s with BFGoodrich tires began rolling off the production line this summer.
