Auburn Hills, Michigan – The 2011 Dodge Durango has been named a Top Safety Pick by the U.S. Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). It becomes the eighth Chrysler Group model to receive the designation for 2011.
The award recognizes vehicles that receive the top rating of “good” in front, side, rollover and rear crash test evaluations by the IIHS and have available electronic stability control. The designation applies to Durango models built after May 2011.
Other models named Top Safety Picks are the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Patriot (when equipped with available side airbags), Chrysler 300 and 200 sedan, and Dodge Charger, Avenger and Journey.
