Dodge announces all-new 2007 Ram 3500 Chassis Cab
Windsor, Ontario – DaimlerChrysler has introduced the 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 Chassis Cab, which will feature a new engine choice and larger interior.
The 3500 will have the Class 3 segment’s highest single-rear-wheel Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 10,200 lbs., along with the largest standard fuel tank (196 litres/52 gallons). It is also the first Ram chassis with a one-piece C-channel frame, and is offered in single-rear-wheel and dual-rear-wheel models, two cab-axle lengths and in regular or Quad Cab configuration.
Engine choices will be a new 6.7-litre Cummins High Output Turbo Diesel with 305 hp and 610 lb-ft of torque, or a gasoline-powered V8 Hemi that makes 330 hp and 375 lb-ft of torque. The diesel engine is available with a six-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission and Power Take Off (PTO) capability that can transmit engine power to auxiliary equipment such as hydraulics for a dump body. A factory-installed exhaust brake is also available. The 3500 Chassis Cab will be built at Chrysler Group’s Saltillo Assembly Plant in Coahuila, Mexico.
