DaimlerChrysler to sell electric vehicles in France

Paris, France – Global Electric Motorcars (GEM), a DaimlerChrysler company headquartered in Fargo, North Dakota, will partner with Matra Manufacturing and Services to sell all-electric GEM vehicles in France.

The vehicles will be modified to meet European Union regulations for light and heavy quadricycles, and will be available in two- and four-passenger models, as well as utility versions. The vehicles are aimed at European customers looking for alternative transportation for short distances, and those who want to reduce emissions and fuel consumption.

Currently, over 30,000 GEM vehicles have been sold in the U.S. and international markets, mostly for use in city centres, planned communities, rural areas, military bases, parks, industrial developments, airports and university campuses.
