DaimlerChrysler fund sends relief to Florida tornado victims
Auburn Hills, Michigan – The DaimlerChrysler Corporation Fund is assisting the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida by donating US$50,000 to assist residents affected by the recent tornados. The company has sent half the amount in food and half in cash, using a convoy of eight Dodge Ram pickups.
On February 2, 2007, severe thunderstorms and tornadoes struck a wide area of central Florida, killing at least 15 people and leaving 20,000 people without power and with limited access to food. The supplies arrived from DaimlerChrysler’s depot in Orlando yesterday and were immediately distributed to residents.
