DaimlerChrysler extends 7 year/115,000 km warranty to 2002 models

Windsor, Ontario – DaimlerChrysler Canada has extended its recently announced seven-year or 115,000 kilometre powertrain warranty offered on its 2003 model vehicles to its remaining 2002 model cars and trucks.

On July 8th, DaimlerChrysler Canada announced that the industry-leading warranty will be provided at no charge on new 2003 Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles. The 7/115 powertrain warranty, which is fully transferable to all subsequent owners at no extra cost, also includes seven years or 115,000 kilometres of 24-hour roadside assistance.

“Now we’re also making this warranty, by far one of the most comprehensive in the industry, standard on all 2002 model Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles sold on or after July 29, 2002”, Ed Brust, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, DaimlerChrysler Canada said. “The 7/115 warranty separates us from our major competitors. Simply stated, we have the best warranty”, Mr. Brust said.

“In response to overwhelming requests from our customers and retailers, we are backing up our pride in the quality of our products with this substantially enhanced warranty for our remaining 2002 model vehicles”, Mr. Brust said.

The seven-year or 115,000 kilometre powertrain warranty covers the vehicle’s engine, transmission (transaxle), transfer case and axles. Powertrain coverage becomes effective following the standard bumper-to-bumper coverage of three years or 60,000 kilometres, whichever comes first.

The 24-hour roadside assistance provides such emergency services as towing, changing a flat tire, battery charging, delivery of fuel and vehicle lockouts.

Vehicles placed in police, taxi, limousine, postal or ambulance service are excluded from the Powertrain Warranty program.
