Markham, Ontario – A series of cruise nights for collector cars in and around the Toronto area will culminate in one vehicle being named the Grand Champion at next February’s Canadian International AutoShow in Toronto.

This year, the Season Finale to name the ten finalists will be held at the 17th annual Autofest in Oshawa, Ontario on August 28, 2010.

Now entering its eighth year, the Cruise Nationals has become one of the most popular features of the AutoShow. Its mandate is to support and celebrate weekly car cruises and, in conjunction with the AutoShow, give car enthusiasts the opportunity to share their passion for vintage vehicles at Canada’s premier automotive event.

The Cruise Nationals is open to custom or restored cars and trucks built prior to 1975. Throughout the summer months, 60 finalists will be selected for the Season Finale; those ten cars will go on to be displayed at the AutoShow, where the Grand Champion will be named, determined by online voting and official judging.

“That’s the real beauty and strength of Cruise Nationals,” said organizer Jon Rosenthall. “It encourages participation from people who are passionate about beautiful automobiles. Virtually anyone can get involved, sharing their passion with up to 300,000 visitors to the Canadian International AutoShow.”
