Retailer will reimburse all affected customers for repairs, rental vehicles
Fuel retailer Couche-Tard will be reimbursing an unknown number of customers for damages caused by a mistaken fuel delivery.
Customers who purchased gasoline at the retailer’s Dégelis location, in Quebec near the New Brunswick border, may have accidentally filled their vehicles with diesel. The culprit: a fuel delivery person who mistakenly put diesel fuel in one of the underground gasoline tanks feeding the pumps.
As AutoGO reports, one affected customer is looking at a bill for $450 between having his car towed and repaired.
A spokesman for Couche-Tard, Mathieu Lavallée, said the company would reimburse all affected customers for any costs incurred due to the issue.
