Construction firms partner on new Calgary Ring Road
Pasadena, California – A new northeast portion of the Calgary Ring Road will be designed and constructed by the firms of Parsons, Flatiron Constructors and Graham Construction and Engineering. Commissioned by the Government of Alberta, the new 21-km portion of the road will extend from Deerfoot Trail south to 17 Avenue Southeast.
The first portion of the ring road, a 15 km stretch in northwest Calgary, will be completed next fall. The northeast portion of the project consists of 23 bridge structures and six interchanges, including one major interchange at Deerfoot Trail, the heaviest-travelled road in the province, and another at the Trans-Canada Highway. The Calgary Ring Road is slated for completion in 2009.
