Computer gamers produce 63,000 Volkswagens

Wolfsburg, Germany – The Volkswagen worldwide computer game “100 Million Mission”, launched at the end of May, currently has players from 84 countries that have joined up to produce over 63,000 vehicles.

The realistic, three-dimensional online game, available at www.volkswagen.com, requires players to produce virtual New Beetle, Golf and Passat vehicles. An average of 1,200 cars is built each day, completing nine production stages. The Golf is the most popular and accounts for almost half of all virtual production.

The busiest gamers are from Germany, closely followed by players from Egypt. Other game participants include those from Ireland, Brazil, Russia, Australia, Singapore and the Sultanate of Oman. The game was developed to celebrate the 100 millionth Volkswagen built; it is available in seven languages until August 28.
