Colorado debuts inaugural Concours d’Elegance
Colorado Springs, Colorado – The new Rocky Mountain Concours d’Elegance makes its inaugural showing on September 1 and 2, 2007, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The venue is similar to shows in Pebble Beach, California and Amelia Island, Florida.
The “competition of excellence” will showcase the finest examples of automobiles and motorcycles, with Mercedes-Benz as its feature marque. Vehicles will tour through the foothills into Colorado Springs and park at the Pioneer Museum for viewing, followed by a gala dinner to benefit local charities.
More than 130 vehicles are expected, including Rudyard Kipling’s 1916 Pierce-Arrow limousine, John Lennon’s 1965 Rolls-Royce, a 1965 Mustang Shelby GT 350 hand-built by Shelby and raced by Stirling Moss, and a 1928 Cadillac and 1939 Packard Darrin owned by Discovery Channel founder John Hendricks.
