Chatham, Ontario – Ontario-based auction house RM Auctions will launch a new, exclusive online auction that will premiere on August 9, 2009 and offer buyers a cyberspace alternative to its traditional auction venues.

More than 70 collector cars will cross the first “virtual auction block,” including a two-time NCRS Top Flight 1972 Corvette 454 with original paint, body and interior; a 1966 Plymouth Belevedere Hemi 426 that is one of only 79 produced; and a 1937 LaSalle with one owner and 74,000 original miles.

Scheduled to begin live at 12 noon EST on August 9, each car will be auctioned individually, one at a time, at an approximate pace of 40 cars per hour, similar to a traditional RM auction. The auction will be held via a secure online bidding interface that will be fully integrated into the RM website, removing the need to visit an external site in order to participate.
