Richmond Hill, Ontario – The Honda Civic and the Ford F-Series topped Canadian car and light truck sales in November, according to industry analyst Dennis DesRosiers.

The report noted that of passenger cars, only the Ford Focus and Toyota Yaris sales were down when compared to November 2008, by 17.5 and 9.0 respectively. All others were up by at least 17.1 per cent, with the Hyundai Elantra up 332.5 per cent, selling 2,206 copies in November 2009 against 510 in November 2008.

In order, the top ten best-selling passenger cars in November 2009 were the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Mazda3, Hyundai Elantra, Toyota Matrix, Ford Focus, Toyota Yaris, Nissan Versa, Ford Fusion, and Volkswagen Golf.

Year-to-date to the end of November, the top ten in order were the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Mazda3, Hyundai Elantra, Hyundai Accent, Toyota Yaris, Ford Focus, Toyota Matrix, Nissan Versa, and Ford Fusion.

In order, the top ten best-selling light trucks in November 2009 were the Ford F-Series, Dodge Caravan, Ford Escape, Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, Toyota RAV4, Hyundai Santa Fe, Dodge Ram, Dodge Journey, and Toyota Venza.

Year-to-date to the end of November, the top ten in order were the Ford F-Series, Dodge Caravan, Ford Escape, GMC Sierra, Chevrolet Silverado, Dodge Ram, Toyota RAV4, Hyundai Santa Fe, Ford Ranger, and Honda CR-V.

A total of 50,787 cars and 51,335 trucks were sold in Canada in November. Year-to-date to the end of November, a total of 696,554 cars and 652,841 trucks have been sold.
