Auburn Hills, Michigan – Chrysler has taken over complete ownership of Global Engine Manufacturing Alliance (GEMA), originally a partnership with Mitsubishi and Hyundai.

In a statement, Chrysler said that the former partners have sold their interests in the manufacturing alliance to the Chrysler Group.

GEMA is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chrysler Group LLC and will continue to build engines for the automaker.
