New York, New York – Chrysler has debuted the 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 at the New York International Auto Show, along with the 300S and 300C Executive Series models.

“We’re bringing three new and distinct models to our 300 lineup in 2012 with the 300 SRT8, 300S Series and 300C Executive Series, each designed with specific consumer lifestyles in mind,” said Olivier Francois, president and CEO of Chrysler Brand. “More than an icon of simple American motoring, the Chrysler 300 is an icon of attainable style and performance. For those customers who live for the sport of being first, the all-new Chrysler 300 SRT8 is the no-compromises king of the hill, featuring the ultimate combination of world-class luxury and performance in our most powerful, best-handling sedan ever.”

The company’s new 6.4-litre Hemi V8 makes its debut in the Chrysler brand in the 300 SRT8, delivering an estimated 465 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque, up to 40 horsepower and 45 lb-ft more than the 6.1-litre Hemi V8 it replaces. A new-for-2012 active valve system allows the standard four-cylinder fuel saver mode to engage over a wider r.p.m. range for improved fuel economy. The model uses a five-speed automatic transmission with standard steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters along with the AutoStick on the floor console.

Also new for 2012 is an adaptive damping system tuned specifically for the 300 SRT8 for a compliant and comfortable ride, automatically tuning the suspension when necessary using such information as vehicle speed, steering angle, throttle position and acceleration.

The all-new 300S and 300C Executive Models further expand the lineup. The company said that the 300C Executive Series is the most luxurious Chrysler sedan ever.

The 300S V6 and V8 models feature 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, wider tires, touring-tuned suspension, body-colour fascia accents and mirrors, and sculpted black chrome grille blades. Inside are large-bolstered cloth sport seats, piano black accents, and matte carbon hydrographic accents instead of burl wood. Also available is Beats by Dr. Dre audio technology, with a ten-speaker Beats Audio system and trunk-mounted dual-voice coil subwoofer.

The Chrysler 300C Executive Series include ultra-premium leather, 5.7-litre V8 Hemi engine, real wood accents, 20-inch polished wheels and Uconnect Touch. On the exterior, bright accents on the fascia, mirrors and door handles have a unique platinum chrome finish, along with a platinum-chrome-finished grille surround and grille blades.
