Chrysler recalls minivans to fix fuel tanks
Detroit, Michigan – The Chrysler Group said it will recall 143,500 2002 model year Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country minivans built in Windsor, Ontario to repair a bad weld in the fuel tanks. The faulty fuel tanks were manufactured by a DaimlerChrysler supplier. Approximately half of the tanks will be replaced.
Chrysler said it had received no reports of fires or injuries related to the problem. Affected owners will receive notices in the mail to have their vehicles fixed free of charge.
