Chrysler LLC opens new supplier park in Mexico

Toluca, Mexico – Dignitaries including the President of Mexico were on hand yesterday to celebrate the grand opening of Chrysler LLC Park in Toluca, Mexico. The park is a joint project between Chrysler and its suppliers, and is part of a US$1 billion investment announced last year.

The new park is located next to Chrysler’s Toluca Complex, which currently builds the Chrysler PT Cruiser and will begin production of the Dodge Journey early next year. Eight suppliers are currently part of the park, generating 1,600 new jobs and bringing new technology to the Toluca Assembly Plant.

Chrysler Park suppliers include TRW, Magna Intier, IPO, Seglo, HBPO, Android, Brose and Gestamp. The suppliers build complete component modules that are delivered “just in time” directly to the assembly line, in sequence for production.
