Chrysler Group adds third shift to Ohio plant

Auburn Hills, Michigan – The Chrysler Group has announced that a third work shift will be added to its manufacturing operations at its Toledo, Ohio North Assembly Plant, beginning in the third quarter of 2006. The new shift will add approximately 750 jobs to the facility.

The new shift coincides with production of the all-new Dodge Nitro; the majority of the jobs will be filled with current employees who will be called back from layoff.

In November 2005, the Chrysler Group announced that it would invest US$600 million at Toledo North, giving the plant the flexibility to add the Dodge Nitro to the Jeep Liberty assembly line. The all-new Toledo Supplier Assembly Plant, adjacent to Toledo North, will begin building the all-new Jeep Wrangler in the Summer of 2006. The new plant is operated by the Chrysler Group and three partners: Magna International, Kuka Group and Hyundai Mobis.
