Auburn Hills, Michigan – A social media agency employee who used profanity in a Twitter post from Chrysler has been terminated, the automaker said in a statement.

The inappropriate comment was issued from the Chrysler brand Twitter handle @ChryslerAutos. The company said that the post originated from New Media Strategies, the automaker’s social media agency of record, and that the employee at the media company has been terminated.

In its statement, Chrysler said that it does not tolerate inappropriate language or behaviour and apologizes to anyone who may have been offended by the communication, and has taken steps to ensure that it does not happen again.
