Chrysler Canada donates $100,000 to Saint Mary’s University in Halifax

Halifax, Nova Scotia – Chrysler Canada has donated $100,000 to the Hearts & Minds Capital Campaign at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The gift will create two annual scholarships at the school, valued at $2,500 each. Starting next year, one will be awarded to one student each at the Sobey School of Business and the Division of Engineering.

“The goal of this gift is to help ensure that Saint Mary’s continues to grow and provide access to education for students in commerce and engineering in Atlantic Canada,” said Steven J. Landry, Executive Vice President, North American Sales, Chrysler LLC. “We at Chrysler are proud to support higher education and to help leaders of tomorrow obtain their goals of earning an education at one of Canada’s leading universities, Saint Mary’s.”

The Hearts & Minds Capital Campaign was launched over one year ago; with the donation from Chrysler, the University has now reached 87 per cent of its $40 million goal. The campaign is expected to wrap up at the end of the year.
