Even after giving the Ram 1500 a ‘Recommended’ rating, Chevrolet’s newest truck trumps it by three points

Consumer Reports has brought two of the newest trucks together for a comparison – the already ‘recommended’ Ram 1500 and the new Chevrolet Silverado.

While the spread between the two was only three points, the Silverado came out on top as a better “truck”. Though, Consumer Reports does mention the Ram is better at being a “car”, which is valid as the majority of owners use their pickups as their primary ride.

The two were tested using “typical configurations” sporting V8 engines. Chevrolet came out on top with better fuel efficiency, a larger bed, greater payload capacity, and more towing grunt. But, Ram provided a nicer place to live day-to-day, with a “friendlier control layout”, plusher ride, and more comfortable seats.
