Bologna, Italy – Chevrolet Europe will unveil its first diesel-powered car, the Lacetti TCDi, at this year’s Bologna Motor Show in Italy in December. The car will go on sale in the first half of 2007.
The Lacetti TCDi uses an all-new 2.0-litre common rail turbodiesel engine, developing 120 hp at 3800 rpm and 206 lb-ft of torque at 2000 rpm. It can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 9.8 seconds, with a combined fuel economy of 4.8 L/100 km in hatchback form, and 5.4 L/100 km in wagon configuration.
More than 160,000 gasoline-powered Lacetti models have been sold across Europe since the model was introduced in 2003.
