Oshawa, Ontario – Chevrolet has announced numerous enhancements for the 2012 Camaro, including a special-edition version to celebrate the model’s 45th anniversary.

Enhancements for the Camaro lineup include an improved version of the 3.6-litre V6 engine, a new performance suspension package for SS coupes, and several interior and technology improvements such as a revised instrument panel design, new steering wheel and rear camera system.

Also coming in early 2012 is the high-performance Camaro ZL1, the most technologically-advanced car ever developed in its segment, the company said.

The 45th Anniversary Special Edition will be unveiled at the Camaro Homecoming Event, which will be held June 10-12 at the assembly plant in Oshawa, Ontario where all Camaro models are built. The anniversary package will be offered on the 2LT and 2SS trim levels, on both coupe and convertible body styles, and will include a unique rally stripe, badges, dark silver 20-inch wheels, dark silver fog lamp and taillight bezels, RS-style taillight lenses, rear spoiler, xenon headlamps, body-colour roof molding, leather-trimmed seats, and special interior stitching and logos.
