Castrol announces winners of Top Tech program

Toronto, Ontario – Castrol has announced the winners of its Castrol GTX Top Tech Program, a program designed to encourage high school students to become auto service technicians.

A 1999 study done by CARS, the automotive repair education association, with the assistance of Human Resource Development Canada (HDRC) showed that 85% of the work force is over 31 while only 7.5% is under 25. The automotive service and repair industry currently employs 200,000 Canadians, most of whom are highly skilled technicians and mechanics. Maintaining this segment is vital to the economy as well as to every vehicle owner. This is where Castrol is stepping in, encouraging high school students with the Castrol GTX Top Tech Program.
