Richmond, British Columbia – Students at Kwantlen University in B.C. will now have access to the Car2go car-sharing service. The partnership between the university and Car2go Vancouver will provide students with more transportation options between campuses, a monthly subsidy to use the service, and an expanded operating area.
Students can register with Car2go for free and will be able to pick up a Smart Fortwo at any of the dedicated Car2g0 parking spots located at the Richmond, Surrey, Langley and Cloverdale campuses. The Kwantlen Student Association Multipass Program will subsidize a fixed amount per month per student. Each eligible student will receive a 20-minute driving credit towards the Car2go service each month.
Students can rent vehicles spontaneously, without the requirement to commit to a specific return time or location. They can start a trip on one campus and finish in one of the designated Car2go parking spots on another campus, or inside the Car2go operating area downtown.
