Vancouver, British Columbia – Car2go, a car-sharing program that is a subsidiary of Daimler, is assessing its in-vehicle technology in Vancouver. The trial assessment is being conducted to validate and refine its business processes and technical systems before further large-scale rollouts in Canada and the U.S. and will continue until October 2010.
The program was successfully launched in North America in Austin, Texas in November 2009. The company plans to expand in the near future and is expected to announce the next location in the first quarter of 2011.
“We elected to perform our trial assessment in Vancouver because of its proximity to one of our technology providers, allowing us to monitor and analyze the data first-hand,” said Nicholas Cole, president and CEO of Car20go North America. “With this trial assessment, Car2go will better understand how our systems work in different countries, providing data sets to help us ultimately enhance the Car20go experience for our members.”
