Car Care Canada announces free car check events
Toronto, Ontario – In honour of May being named Car Care Month, Car Care Canada has announced a list of pro-active methods to lessen the effect of vehicles on the environment, including free car care clinics.
“Many Canadians are concerned about the environmental effects of driving, yet vehicles have become a necessity for most,” says Kelly Williams, spokesperson for the Be Car Care Aware campaign. “The fact is simple, regular vehicle maintenance makes a true difference.”
The campaign points out that a misfiring spark plug can reduce fuel efficiency by as much as 20 per cent; replacing a clogged air filter could improve gas mileage by as much as ten per cent; improper tire inflation may reduce gas mileage by as much as 15 per cent; a loaded roof can reduce mileage by five per cent; and air conditioning can affect fuel economy by 10 to 20 per cent.
Car Care Canada has announced that it will conduct free Car Check Events in Winnipeg on May 5; Calgary on May 12; Guelph, Ontario on May 26; and Montreal on May 26. For more information, visit CarCareCanada.ca.
