Mississauga, Ontario – Mitsubishi is now taking orders for its all-electric 2012 i-MiEV (Mitsubishi Innovative Electric Vehicle). The company has 30 certified MiEV dealerships across Canada.

The i-MiEV is a four-passenger subcompact hatchback that will be the most affordable, mass-produced, all-electric vehicle in the Canadian marketplace, the company said. It has a range of up to 155 kilometres with a top speed of 130 km/h. It will be available in two levels: the standard i-MiEV will start at $32,998, while the top-line Premium Package will start at $35,998.

Provincial government subsidies for electric vehicles will reduce the i-MiEV’s price by $8,231 in Ontario; $7,769 expected in Quebec; and $5,000 in British Columbia.
