Canadian to become head of Chrysler Group
Auburn Hills, Michigan – DaimlerChrysler has made major changes to its top management, which will take effect January 1, 2006. After 44 years, Jürgen E. Schrempp will leave the company and his position as chairman of DaimlerChrysler AG. Dr. Dieter Zetsche, current head of the Chrysler group, will become Chairman of the Board of Management of DaimlerChrysler AG for a period of five years.
Canadian Tom LaSorda, the present Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Chrysler Group, will become that division’s leader, and has been appointed a full member of DaimlerChrysler’s Board of Management, effective immediately. LaSorda’s position as COO will be filled by Eric Ridenour.
