Canadian and U.S. technicians to compete in ACDelco Technician of the Millennium competition

Grand Blanc, Michigan – Three Canadian and five U.S. automotive service professionals will be competing in Las Vegas in the Regional Semi-Finals of the ACDelco Technician of the Millennium IV competition. The technicians battle the clock and each other to diagnose and repair pre-determined “bugs” placed in identical vehicles, and are judged on their professionalism and accuracy in their diagnosis and repair.

The Canadian finalists are David Jaggard, Eccles Auto Service Inc., Dundas, Ontario; Phil Taekama, Woodriver Valley Automotive Service, Moncton, New Brunswick; and Tom Bischoff, Williams Automotive Service, Kelowna, British Columbia.

The finalists represent each of ACDelco’s eight regions and will enter the final competition on October 27, 2006 at the ACDelco National Convention in Las Vegas. The winner will have the chance at over US$41,000 in prizes, including a 2006 GM vehicle.
