Oshawa, Ontario – The 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible has officially begun production at GM’s facility in Oshawa, Ontario. Rick Hendrick of Hendrick Motorsports, who purchased the first convertible through a charity auction, was on hand with driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. at a special event at the plant.
“This is an exciting new chapter in the ongoing revival of the tremendously popular Chevrolet Camaro,” said Kevin Williams, president and managing director of GM of Canada. “The launch of the new convertible opens Camaro design and performance to a new set of enthusiastic customers, while further demonstrating the flexible capabilities of the award-winning Oshawa assembly plant.”
The Camaro Convertible will start at $33,995 and goes on sale across Canada starting this month.
