Cadillac to enter the Australian market in 2008
Detroit, Michigan – Cadillac has announced that the all-new CTS will be the first Cadillac sold in Australia when the brand makes its debut there in the fourth quarter of 2008. The company is in the midst of a global expansion, including a growing portfolio of luxury vehicles aimed at markets around the world.
“The all-new CTS embodies all of the hallmark Cadillac cues: a striking design, entertaining luxury and rewarding performance,” said Cadillac general manager Jim Taylor. “We’re confident that this CTS will meet the discriminating tastes and demands of luxury customers, no matter where they live.”
The rear-wheel drive Australian CTS will be powered by a 3.6-litre V6 gasoline engine with six-speed automatic transmission. Australian customers will have the choice of two performance-tuned suspensions. Introduction dates for additional models in Australia have not been announced.
In total, sales of Cadillac vehicles have increased in the Asia Pacific region by 98.4 per cent, by 45.3 per cent in Europe, and by 49.4 per cent in Latin America, Africa and the Middle East.
