CAA-Quebec/Pollution Probe report shows Canadian motorists can cut greenhouse gas emissions

Quebec, Quebec – CAA-Quebec has announced the release of the joint report Driving Towards a Cleaner Environment, a Healthier Future. The report stems from a new partnership between the Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) and environmental group Pollution Probe.

The report contains recommendations that, if implemented, could cut greenhouse gas emissions produced by automobiles by 30 to almost 50 per cent. The report contains solutions specifically aimed at consumers, and advocates creating a healthy environment while preserving the principle of mobility. It also presents recommendations directed at the federal government, such as the need to implement effective standards in fuel efficiency by 2010, support for research and development on energy-efficient vehicles, and the importance of investing in road infrastructures to ease congestion and pollution.
