Quebec City, Quebec – With the end of the spring thaw, CAA-Quebec has put away its Pothole Watch website “into storage” for another year. Since February 26, the site logged a record 2,591 potholes.
CAA-Quebec informed the authorities of each one to ensure immediate action; a large majority have been temporarily repaired.
“The authorities must now permanently repair all these potholes which cause motorists an endless amount of frustration,” said Sophie Gagnon, CAA-Quebec’s Senior Director, Public and Government Relations. “An enormous undertaking awaits each municipality and the Quebec Transport Ministry.”
Pothole Watch is now in its eighth year. CAA-Quebec reminds motorists that there will be road works sites throughout the province this summer, and to be patient and follow road signs designed to ensure the safety of both road users and construction workers. Information on road work sites can be found at the Transport Ministry’s site at InfoRoutiere.qc.ca.
