Thornhill, Ontario – CAA South Central Ontario (CAASCO) has agreed to purchase six family-owned automotive repair facilities in southern Ontario, formerly operating as Midas franchises.
The new CAA-owned Car Care Centres are located in Kitchener, Waterloo, Stratford, Listowel, Milton and Georgetown. CAASCO already has centres in Scarborough (Toronto) and Peterborough.
The facilities were owned by over 40 years by the Buttinger family; Gord and Paul Buttinger will continue to own and operate three shops in the Waterloo Region, and one in Guelph. “We’ve been proud to be part of a legacy, started by our parents, of providing trusted service to the community,” said Gord Buttinger. “We’ve made many terrific friends along the way and have enjoyed every moment. We are sad to leave, but are happy to let our customers know that many of our expert staff will continue to be there for your car care needs through CAA.”
The new CAA Car Care Centres will open on April 20, 2009, and will provide maintenance and repairs that are guaranteed for one year or 20,000 km under a parts and labour warranty. In addition, CAA members will earn three per cent in CAA dollars on parts and labour for each repair.
