CAA names top 20 worst municipal roads in Ontario

Toronto, Ontario – Public voting online and at select CAA-approved repair shops and stores has resulted in the association naming Ontario’s Top 20 Worst Municipal Roads for 2007. The CAA says the poll means commuters are sending a message to all three provincial party leaders that the funding and repair of municipal roads must be a priority.

“Commuters are tired of driving on roads they deem unsafe, and they’ve had enough of paying for expensive vehicle damages caused by bad roads,” says Kris Barnier, Provincial Affairs Specialist, CAA Ontario. “Cyclists, transit users and motorists clearly want the provincial party leaders to commit to fixing their municipal roads.”

The top 20 roads are:

  • Vermillion Lake Road, Greater Sudbury
  • Bradley Avenue, London
  • Lansing Avenue, Greater Sudbury
  • Cardwell Street, Township of Assiginack
  • Steeles Avenue, City of Toronto/Region of York
