Britax launches compact child seat with side impact protection

Charlotte, North Carolina – Child seat manufacturer Britax Child Safety Inc. has announced a new compact child seat, the Diplomat, with the company’s True Side Impact Protection.

“A growing number of people are driving compact cars,” says Jeanna Rimmer of Britax Child Safety Inc. “The Diplomat has been created to meet the demand of those parents and caregivers with automotive space constraints, while maintaining Britax’s dedication to safety and side impact protection.”

The True Side Impact Protection system includes deep expanded polystyrene foam-lined side walls and deep side wings, designed to absorb vehicle crash forces, minimize lateral head movement, contain the head and body, and shield the child from vehicle intrusion. Modelled after the company’s best-selling Boulevard seat, the Diplomat is approved to hold children weighing up to 40 lbs (18 kg).

The Diplomat will retail for US$259.99 and can be purchased at independent retail shops and mass retailers. For a list of retailers in Canada and the U.S., visit BritaxUSA.com.
