Nashville, Tennessee – Bridgestone is now accepting nominations for the Bridgestone Mark Messier Youth Leadership Award, which recognizes and rewards an individual who has made a positive impact on the lives of children in amateur hockey. The nominations are open to those in Canada and the U.S.
The award, intended to encourage leadership and community spirit, provides a $5,000 grant or scholarship to the Canadian or U.S. resident involved in amateur hockey judged to have overcome adversity to achieve a goal or dream, supported community service by promoting youth sports or excelled in academics for athletes, or who has enabled underprivileged children to participate in hockey.
The nominees can include players, coaches, administrators, sponsors, officials, timers and scorers – anyone who has used hockey to make a difference.
