Mississauga, Ontario – Bridgestone Firestone Canada Inc. (BFCA) has announced its 7th annual Bridgestone Photo Contest for Canadian post-secondary students. The contest is on now and runs until December 1, 2008.

Students registered in photography programs at 13 universities or colleges across Canada are participating in the contest, with a total of $42,000 in prize money to be awarded. Each school will be awarded first, second and third prizes, and the first-place finishers will go on to compete for a grand prize and special mention. In addition, the winning photographs will also be exhibited on the company’s web site and at events.

“We have established three themes for this year’s edition — community, environment and safety,” said Jeremy Smith, Manager, Community and Corporate Relations for Bridgestone Americas Holding Inc. “Our goal is for the students to highlight themes important to our company and to help build awareness for these topics. We’ve been amazed at the passion, creativity and talent these students display in their work. I can’t wait to see this year’s entries.”
