BorgWarner to produce turbochargers for Hyundai and Kia

Auburn Hills, Michigan – BorgWarner has begun production of turbochargers for Hyundai and Kia, as part of its continuing expansion into the Asian market. The systems are produced at BorgWarner’s joint Korean company, SeohanWarner Turbo Systems, for the new Kia Sorento diesel engine. The engine will initially be available only in Korea.

The unit, a turbocharger system with variable turbine geometry (VTG), is known as the BV43. It represents the latest in the company’s VTG technology and offers improved thermodynamics and optimized control behaviour, with much higher reliability than the previous VTG product.
