BMW Toronto makes first private contribution to waterfront parks

Toronto, Ontario – BMW Toronto yesterday presented Toronto mayor David Miller with a cheque for $40,000 in support of the city’s future Don River Park. The contribution is the first private donation to the ongoing operation of the parks, which are being developed as part of the revitalization of Toronto’s waterfront.

The cheque was presented by Walter Schauer, Managing Director of BMW Toronto, which is located across the Don River from the future park. The seven-hectare Don River Park will be the cornerstone of the new community the Toronto Waterfront Revitalization Corporation is developing in the West Don Lands. BMW Toronto’s contribution will be held in trust and will become part of a fund dedicated to the ongoing maintenance and operation of the park.
