BMW Group wins German design award

Munich, Germany – BMW has become the only manufacturer this year to be presented with the “Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany”, the country’s most coveted design prize, for two of its products. Both the BMW 6 Series Coupe and Convertible won, as well as the Mini brand exhibition installation concept, “Four Floors in Urban Nightlife”, first seen at the Geneva Motor Show in 2003.

The award is given each year by the German Design Council on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. Some 868 products were nominated, with 25 awards given in the fields of industrial design, product design, and exhibition and communication design.
