BMW Group to launch diesels in U.S. and Canada in 2008
Whitby, Ontario – BMW has announced that it will launch its performance-oriented diesel engines in Canada and the U.S. in 2008. The engines are already in use in Europe, where 67 per cent of sales are diesel models.
The North American diesel models are an integral part of BMW’s Efficient Dynamics corporate strategy, which integrates a combination of short-, mid- and long-term measures for the continued reduction of fuel consumption and emissions, while enhancing performance and driving characteristics. The engines and specifications of the North American diesels will be announced at a later date.
